Daughters of Pendle is the moving story of poor, ignorant, Lancashire folk. After a strange series of events in their homeland of the Forest of Pendle in the year 1612, they were accused of the heinous crime of witchcraft.

Old Demdike, her friends and family were marched on foot through the Forest of Bowland to Lancaster Jail, where they were eventually tried and sentenced:

    You shall go from hence to the castle from whence you came;
    From thence, you shall be taken to the place of execution.
    You shall be hanged until you be dead.
    And God have mercy upon your souls.

This gripping musical, a fully acted out dramatic piece, spells out the destructive effect of poverty, degradation and ignorance...
